DETROIT (WJBK) - Firefighters have put out a fire at an apartment complex on Detroit's west side.

The Ramblewood Apartment complex, located near the intersection the Southfield Freeway and I-96, caught fire around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Fox 2's Amy Andrews is at the scene and reports five or six apartments were destroyed. SkyFOX was over the scene where you can see flames were shooting through the roof at one point.

The fire was put out in about 45 minutes. The chief says the crews kept it at a one-alarm fire when it could have easily spread to a three- or four-alarm fire.

No injuries have been reported but some tenants have been displaced.
