Find Ty Hoffman: $25,000 reward for fugitive murder suspect

Posted: Updated:
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -

The reward for information leading to the arrest of fugitive murder suspect Ty Hoffman has grown to $25,000, thanks to donations from the community. Lyle Marvin “Ty” Hoffman is wanted in the Aug. 11 shooting death of Kelly Phillips outside of a gas station in Arden Hills, Minn.

Phillips, 48, and Hoffman, 44, were former “life partners” and also co-founded Lush Food Bar in northeast Minneapolis back in 2009. Phillips was also an executive at Boston Scientific.

Hoffman has traveled extensively within the Unites States, Canada, and Mexico, and has also mentioned visiting Belize. He enjoys playing blackjack and has visited Las Vegas and Minnesota casinos extensively. He is known to gravitate toward gay communities in the places he visits.

Hoffman is described as having short brown hair, hazel eyes and a large build at 6'2 and 230 pounds. Ramsey County investigators believe he may use apps and websites like Grindr, Scruff and Craigslist to find shelter.

If seen, avoid contact with Hoffman and call 911. To share any information or report a tip anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
