A north Georgia woman says it's her right to fly an American flag in her yard and she's prepared to fight for it. However, her homeowners association says the patriotic display has to go.
Delita Smith was stunned when she was told to take her American and Israeli flags down.
“I have the right to fly my flags the way I want to in my own home myself,” said Smith.
Smith tells FOX 5 she received a courtesy notice Thursday from her homeowners association. It states she has unapproved flags in her yard and if they're not removed in 72 hours she could be fined.
“It's really been tearing me up because I have a right,” said Smith.
Smith says the flags have been up for roughly two years and thinks a neighbor complained.
She plans on keeping the flags up and will take further action if she's fined.
“I have a right to fly my American flag. I am a citizen of the United State,” said Smith.
