I’m a local boy from Claremont, North Carolina. I attended Western Carolina University where I received a B.S. in Communication with a double concentration of broadcasting and journalism. While in college I was the General Manager of WWCU-FM and color commentated WCU football basketball games.

There are literally hundreds of Facebook “challenges” but one in particular is gaining in popularity with athletes and celebrities. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been going on for months, but is gaining more popularity by the minute.

Six Carolina Panthers, along with mascot Sir Purr, took the challenge. The challenge is aimed at increasing awareness of ALS, a neurodegenerative disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

Running backs' De'Angelo Williams, Mike Tolbert and Jonathan Stewart allowed themselves to be drenched in ice cold water as part of the challenge. Tight end Greg Olsen, quarterback Derrick Anderson and linebackers Luke Kuechly, and Thomas Davis joined Sir Purr in participating as well.
