I took a break from the business to start a family and build a Sports Media consultancy, but never lost the “bug.”
I am ecstatic to be back in the Carolinas, and back on air! I spent fifteen years in the broadcast new business before taking a break to start a family, write a book and build a Sports Media consultancy. While I certainly enjoyed my new directions, I never lost the “bug.”

With college bound students heading back to campuses throughout the Carolinas and the country this week, parents and inundated with last minute shopping and getting their young adults settled.  Then comes the part of turning this thing called 'life' over to the students, hoping they'll make good decisions.  But the Better Business Bureau says it can't stop there.  Tom Bartholomy, President of the BBB of Southern Piedmont, says it's time to equip our kids with tools and knowledge to keep them from being scammed.  Along with this interview with Bartholomy, here are some points to share:

*Remind students to protect their debit cards, pin numbers and checking accounts by avoiding overdraft fees

*Talk to students about how easy it is to get credit cards on campus, and how easy it is to ruin their credit history with mismanagement

*Educate your young adults about being targets for identity theft since they won't have credit blemishes that older consumers may have

*Warn your kids against co-signing for any of their friends (e.g. utility accounts)
