Panthers head coach Ron Rivera praised the work his team put forth on Saturday.

"I thought it was physical in terms of our pad level," said Rivera. "Guys playing with their hands...some good adjustments were made. There really were a lot of positives that we're going to build from."

However, Sunday is a new day. The Panthers had an easier practice (in terms of physicality) on a hot Spartanburg, SC morning. Guys were able to tighten the screws on more fundamentals. It also gave guys like cornerback Josh Norman, who struggled some last season, the opportunity to show his confidence is improving.

"Every time I step on the field it's my time," said Norman. "I have to go out there and compete and be the best I can be."

Cam Newton continued to build relationships with both new and returning receivers. Tight end Greg Olsen is entering his fourth season with the Panthers and said he and Newton are growing day by day.

"I feel like we have a pretty good idea of what one and other are looking for," said Olsen. "We've had decent success over the last couple of years and we don't anticipate that stopping."

Rookie wide out Kelvin Benjamin has been a vacuum cleaner for anything thrown his way during the entire camp.

"I haven't seen him (Benjamin) double catch a ball, yet," said Olsen. "I think he has really good hand eye coordination and tracking the ball and making hard catches look easy."

The Panthers have tomorrow off and get back to work on Tuesday. They host the Buffalo Bills Friday at Bank of America Stadium @ 7:30 p.m.
