Brookhaven murder suspect arrested

BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -

Brookhaven police have charged a man with murder following a shooting Thursday.

Police tell FOX 5 Juan Carlos Ramirez shot Justin Acevedo, 23, after the two got into an argument. The victim leaves behind a young daughter and grieving family.

Investigators tell FOX 5 they have found a gun they believe was used in the murder. 

Police confirm three other people have been arrested and are also facing charges. All four suspects were taken to the DeKalb County Jail.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene which happened in the 1300 block of North Cliff Valley Way just before noon.

An eyewitness tells FOX 5's George Franco he heard gunfire then turned around to see Acevedo go down. The eyewitness says two children and a woman tried to save him.

Detectives are searching the Park Town North apartments where the victim was shot in front of.

According to police, a man and woman were seen fleeing into the neighboring apartment complex.

Major Brandon Gurley, with Brookhaven Police, describes the suspect as an armed Hispanic man in dark clothes.

Police are still trying to determine a motive for the murder.
