Suffolk County homicide squad and the US Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Leah Cuevas, 42, on Wednesday night.

Cuevas lived on 346 Sumpter Ave. in Brooklyn, the same address as the victim, Chinelle Latoya Thompson Browne, 27.

Cuevas was charged with second-degree murder and held overnight at Suffolk's Fourth Precinct, according to police.

She was arraigned on Thursday where she pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Prosecution said Browne was killed by Cuevas in her apartment during an argument on July 5th.

Browne was last seen on July 5th before her body was discovered on July 8th at a vacant lot decapitated and missing arms.

One arm was found on a home's lawn on Webb Avenue in Hempstead. Another arm was found in a yard on Cornell Street, half a mile away from Webb Avenue. Browne's head was found in the yard of a home on Boylston Street in Hempstead.
