He's a singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer.

With hit songs like "Beautiful Soul" and "How Do You Sleep," Jesse McCartney launched into pop star status.

McCartney first hit the music scene when he was just a teenager.  Ten years ago, his hit "Beautiful Soul" topped the charts.

Now, just a decade later, McCartney has a new movie, new album, and a new tour kicking off in Charlotte this Friday at "The Fillmore."

"You can expect a really high energy show. Lotta new music, we're going to be playing seven to eight songs from the new album and of course all the oldies they know as well," said McCartney.

Fans can expect to hear favorites and some new hits off "In Technicolor," which just hit stores on Tuesday. The album pays tribute to his music idols like Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson.

"The whole album is sort of a tip to that time in music, early 80's, late 70's," said McCartney.

McCartney not only has the singing and acting bug, he also is known for his dancing.  Fans will be able to see some of those moves this Friday.

"There's going to be a lot dancing. I'm going to be moving around a lot," said McCartney.

The energy on stage won't be the only thing rising. "Superbad," McCartney's new hit, is also moving on the charts.

"To be super bad, you know to kind of walk into a room, and be cool, you know, not say anything or do anything," said McCartney of his new song.

McCartney has been in the spotlight since he was a kid however, he's one of the few stars that has stayed out of trouble.

"I have a group of people around me that say no and you know I think that's kind of kept me level-headed," said McCartney.

Kicking off his tour in Charlotte also means something special to McCartney.

"Very happy to be starting in Charlotte.  You guys have always been big supporters. It's always been a great city to perform in, love the South," said McCartney.

McCartney kicks off his tour in Charlotte Friday, July 25th, at 7:30 pm at "The Fillmore."
