I'm part of the myFoxCarolinas Sports Department, along with Anthony Flores. I'm thrilled to be working in a pro sports town, covering the Panthers, Bobcats (we’ll be calling them the Hornets in no time), and all the local college and high school action the Carolinas provide.

Like many of his Charlotte Hornet teammates, Lance Stephenson hasn't been in the NBA that long. The difference is Stephenson has experienced several extended playoff runs. In his first press conference as a Hornet, he talked about using that experience to help his new team.

"I feel like we're young and talented (here)," Stephenson said. "I can help bring the edge and the playoff experience. We have a lot of great players on the team."

Stephenson On Playing With Kemba and Big Al

Stephenson spent his first four seasons with the Indiana Pacers, averaging career-highs in points (13.8), rebounds (7.2), and assists per game. He played in consecutive Eastern Conference Finals, losing to LeBron James and the Miami Heat both times.

The shadow of LeBron loomed large over Stephenson's press conference, thanks to the infamous "Ear-Blowing Incident" from last season's Eastern Conference Finals. The moment has stayed alive through memes on social media and was even spoofed by rapper Drake at this year's ESPY Awards. Stephenson said he thinks the incident was a bit over-blown.

Stephenson On LeBron

"I'm a little upset," he said. "I feel like I bring a little more to the table than blowing in someone's ear."

Hornets coach Steve Clifford said he likes his commitment and competitiveness. He said those traits may have something to do his on-court antics.

"He knows sometimes he's crossed the line a little bit," Clifford said. "But I think he does it out of competitiveness."
