I took a break from the business to start a family and build a Sports Media consultancy, but never lost the “bug.”
I am ecstatic to be back in the Carolinas, and back on air! I spent fifteen years in the broadcast new business before taking a break to start a family, write a book and build a Sports Media consultancy. While I certainly enjoyed my new directions, I never lost the “bug.”

People at a strip mall right outside of Houston, Texas, broke a window of a parked Jeep to rescue two kids trapped inside the hot truck.  The kids were crying and screaming, while their mother was apparently in one of the stores.  Video shows one of the men got a hammer out of his truck, and shattered the glass.  Then a woman climbed in, to unlock the door.  Gabriel Del Valle works at one of the stores at the strip mall.  He says when he got outside... the rescue was already in progress so he caught it on tape.  During our conversation on My Fox Carolinas Live via FaceTime, he explained the mother came out just as he got there, and basically gave the passers-by permission to hammer through.  He says it seems like the mother made an honest mistake that led to her kids locking themselves in the Jeep, with the keys inside.  Here is part of Del Valle's interview with @Fox46Barbara.

Gabriel Del Valle: From what I've heard, the story is she was actually not getting a haircut.  She was actually at a fax place.  And they say they actually got her on video for about five minutes in the place.  And then, she came outside and that's when everything was going down.  I don't think she, she meant to do it on purpose or anything like that... which is why no-one was trying to call 9-1-1 or anything.  Everybody was just focused on saving the kids.

Barbara Lash: Was she frantic though?  Was she like: 'Get my kids out of there, help me?'

Del Valle: I mean, I wouldn't say casual, but she definitely wasn't frantic.  I mean, I know my mom.  If something like that was going on, she'd probably be going berserk... I mean... she was like kind of confused at the same time.

A bill requiring insurance to cover a popular educational therapy for children with autism passed overwhelmingly in the North Carolina House but it may die with lawmakers leaving soon for home for the summer. The North Carolina Senate never put the bill up for a vote.
