Growing up wasn't easy for Jazzy Kirkley. He didn't have a mom or dad and he was raised by another family. "I grew up on a farm in the country," Kirkley said. "My mom and dad left me with a white family. That family raised me as a kid." Today, family is everything to Kirkley. But his favorite thing to do? Throw some punches.

A Charlotte nursing home received a below average health inspection score by the North Carolina Public Health Department. Golden Living Center's Dartmouth location scored an 80, the lowest nursing home score in Mecklenburg County.

The health inspector found "wall damage throughout the facility," "excessive mold growth on block walls in the basement central supply closet," and "curtains dirty in certain rooms."

According to the inspection report, the health inspector also found "all patient room restroom sinks/counter tops damaged," "water damaged ceiling tiles," and "the interior of the ice machine collecting mold."

The nursing home's manager wouldn't comment and referred our questions to their corporate headquarters, which didn't comment.
