I'm part of the myFoxCarolinas Sports Department, along with Anthony Flores. I'm thrilled to be working in a pro sports town, covering the Panthers, Bobcats (we’ll be calling them the Hornets in no time), and all the local college and high school action the Carolinas provide.

Friday, for my assignment, I was tasked with a ride-along in a Global Rallycross car, at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Cars that go zero-to-60 in 1.9 seconds -- that's faster than a formula one car. We're talking about machines with absurd power. Not a bad gig... But enough to make you a little skittish...

PJ Hairston hit six three-pointers en route to a 22-point performance, but it wasn't enough as the Charlotte Hornets lost to the Sacramento Kings 72-65, Sunday night.

Fellow first round pick Noah Vonleh tallied 10 points and 18 rebounds, a couple nights after going 0-13 in his Summer League debut. Vonleh pulled down 13 defensive boards, along with 5 on the offensive glass.

Rashad James led the Kings with 12 points. Nik Stauskas had 11 points in the Kings win.
