Sometimes, off-season training regimens can become boring. Mundane.  Tiresome.  Others can be the type that elongate a career, energize a player, and improve an athlete's quality of life, both on the field and off.  Mike Tolbert hopes he's come across his version of the latter.

The Utah Jazz will match the Charlotte Hornets 4-year, $63 million max offer to forward Gordon Hayward, keeping the 6'8 shooter in Salt Lake City, MyFoxCarolinas has learned.

The Jazz had until 11:59:59 PM EDT on Sunday to match the offer, but surprised many and informed the Hornets this morning that they would match the offer. Many expected the Jazz to take the decision right up until the deadline. Instead, the deal is done 36 hours before many expected.

Hayward will officially put pen to paper later this afternoon, finalizing what Hornets fans had feared would happen, ever since the Hornets offer sheet was announced earlier this week.

The deal was first reported by Yahoo! Sports and Fox Sports 1's Adrian Wojnarowski.
