Turning Point is Union County's only domestic violence shelter and it has opened its doors to its new location of Second Chance Boutique -- a high-end thrift store located in Waxhaw.

Turning Point owns three stores, two boutiques and a home decor store, but says it has been flooded with generous donations over the years -- resulting in the need to move in to a larger-boutique store in Waxhaw.

The shelter Turning Point says it serves over 300 victims annually and that 83 percent of its victims seen are now living violence-free.

The store is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Turning Point says it is committed to “turning our community away from domestic violence and providing victims of domestic violence and their dependent children with safe shelter while they learn how to break free from their abuser.”
