BB&T Ballpark is beautiful and popular. It is so popular that the Charlotte Knights new stadium is breaking attendance records and exceeding expectations.

Meanwhile in Fort Mill, Knights Stadium, the ballpark that was home to the Charlotte Knights for 23 years, is vacant.

The stadium is in bad condition. There is shattered glass in an entrance, unkept grass and vandalism.

"The area has seen a little disrepair," York County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer, Trent Faris, said. "Any abandoned building has its safety hazards of course. Nobody should be in there."

The county sold the land to Cato Corporation. The contract Cato signed permits them to use the land for any industrial, commercial or residential purpose. The stadium will be demolished within a year.
