The Greek fraternity and sorority community paid their respects to Bianca Tanner tonight.

Her boyfriend, Angelo Grayson Smith Jr., has been charged in connection with her death. While they did honor Tanner, the focus of the evening was on preventing future domestic violence.

"It means we get closer and uncomfortable at times with the conversations we have with our loved ones," said one organizer.

He encouraged the crowd to speak up to their loved ones if they see a problem.

Tanner's sister says she had reservations about boyfriend Angelo Grayson Smith Jr but never said anything.

"It's what I kick myself in the butt for every single day," she added.

The NC A&T Greeks for the community organized the memorial.

Justin Ramey brought his son so he could learn about domestic violence early on.

"You start them young to help them understand how to respect women and understand what manhood truly means," he said. "Men don't become men at a certain age it's a development process."

After the crowd released balloons and sang together, Tanner's sister begged the audience to use their voice, whether in an abusive relationship themselves or if they know someone who is a victim.
