Lancaster Toddler Dies After Being Left in Hot Car

Posted: Updated:

Logan Bender, a 3-year-old boy has died after being trapped in his mother's car last week.

Police say they responded to a call on July 2nd after receiving a call that a child was found in a vehicle. EMS responded to the call, and the child was transported to a local hospital after suffering from heat stroke.

Officials say it seems like the child got into the car without his mother's knowledge, and was playing with his dog when he became trapped inside.

Logan passed away Monday after succumbing to injuries from being left in the car, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff Department. The Sheriff's Office and the Department of Social Services are still investigating the incident. The Sheriff's Office is also working with the 6th Circuit Solicitor's Office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
