I am ecstatic to be back in the Carolinas, and back on air! I spent fifteen years in the broadcast new business before taking a break to start a family, write a book and build a Sports Media consultancy. While I certainly enjoyed my new directions, I never lost the “bug.”

Charlotte, NC -

Andrew Pelham, a 12-year old out of Tennessee, invented the EZ Baby Saver, that's gaining plenty of social media and traditional news media attention.

The idea is to use rubber bands and duct tape to create a reminder so parents no longer leave their kids in hot cars.

Mr. Pelham spoke with our Barbara Lash.

It all started with a contest and now it could be a life saver.

"I read about a story in our neighborhood, a women who left her child in a hot car, and I was also thinking of entering the rubber band contest. I thought this was a good time to use both ideas and find a way to stop that problem," said Andrew Pelham.

The rubber band contest challenged kids to create something out of rubber bands.

"It's a device that as u strap your child into your car, you would flip it over your seat and then strap it to your door, so when you got out of the car it would be blocking your path out of the car so you can't get out without undoing and remembering my child's in the car," said Pelham.
