The Honeymoon is over, now what?

Posted: Updated:
myFOXdetroit.com - The vows are exchanged.  Promises made.  The honeymoon is now over.  So how do couples keep the sparks alive in their relationships?

AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Clinical Psychologist Dr. John Beiter joined us to share his tips when it comes to resolving marriage conflict.

Tips to Resolve Conflict after the Honeymoon is over.

1. Learn to relate to your partner and not react.

2. Acknowledge and validate your spouses feelings whether you agree with her/him or not - this stops arguments dead in their tracks!

3. Address one issue at a time.

4. Stop using the word BUT replace it with AND!

5. Do not interrupt your spouse when s/he is speaking.

6. Take The Happiness Advantage to strengthen your relationship
