Newton, NC - The investigation into the murder of Maggie Daniels continued into the night Wednesday.

An investigator was seen walking around the Thornton Elementary School area, which is located just behind the Windsor Apartments where Daniels lived.

This followed after a judge sealed search warrants in the case.

Daniels, a guidance counselor at Discovery High School in Newton, was found dead in her apartment Saturday morning. Following an autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide.

A cause of death has not been released.

A wake is planned Sunday with a funeral to follow Monday in Cleveland, Ohio. The family plans to travel to North Carolina for a 4 p.m. memorial Wednesday, July 9 at Newton-Conover High School.

A memorial fund was launched through a crowdfunding site Wednesday night. By 6:30pm Thursday, $10,705 had already been raised.
