July the 4th is less than a week away and that means fireworks are flying off the shelves, but what fireworks are legal in North Carolina?

According to the law of N.C. legal fireworks are: Snake/glow worms, smoke devices, party/string poppers, wire sparklers, or sparkling devices that do not detonate, explode, spin or propel themselves into the air.

North Carolina Law, 14-410 - Manufacture, sale, and the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited. That includes possession of exploding class C fireworks.

Illegal fireworks are: Anything that explodes or is projected into the air, firecrackersm rockets, roman candles, and aerial fireworks.

If you are caught with any type of fireworks that are illegal in N.C. you will receive a Class 2 misdemeanor with a mandatory court appearance.
