The Chicago Police Department says the boyfriend of missing Charlotte teacher, Bianca Tanner, appeared in a bond court 11:00 a.m. central time on Saturday.

The results of the bond hearing has not been released yet according to the Chicago Police Department.

Angelo Grayson Smith, Jr., was arrested by U.S. Marshals near Chicago on Thursday and charged Smith for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Two weeks after Tanner's disappearance, Smith was issued a warrant.

According to a search warrant, police interviewed Tanner's 3-year-old son Jarrod. He told police “Mommy got a spanking with the belt. Angelo kicked mommy’s butt and made her cry. Angelo is mean to mommy and mommy in the face.”

The warrant stated that police were searching for any evidence related to an assault on a female. It also gave a possible account of the night before her disappearance.

Smith said he received a text the night before that led to a “small argument.” Documents say Smith told police she left the house intoxicated and carrying a bag and was not seen from again.

Detectives with the Charlotte- Mecklenberg Police Department are treating her disappearance as a homicide, however Smith has not been named as a suspect in Tanner's case.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to cal 9-1-1 immediately.
