McMaster Wins Lt. Governor Nomination as SC Voters Went Back To Polls

Tuesday, South Carolina voters went back to the polls for run-off races. For Republicans, the races include Lt. Governor and education superintendent. For Democrats, they are voting for their nominee for education superintendent.

Republican candidate, Henry McMaster, beat Mike Campbell to become the party's nominee for Lt. Governor.

This race will be the last time in South Carolina Lt. Governor and Governor run on separate tickets.

Molly Spearman became the Republican nominee for education superintendent.

Tom Thompson became the Democratic nominee for education superintendent.

A run-off race is required when no candidate receives 50% or more of the votes.

Voter turnout was very low.
