The Kannapolis Fire Department joined forces with the NC Department of Transportation group, Safe Routes to School in an effort to teach kids bike safety.

"We want families to get out more," said Maria Bostian, Fire & Safety Educator with KFD.

Kids learned the proper signals to use when biking, why it's important to wear a helmet, and how to properly yield & stop.

Logan vs Rodeo

This bike rodeo was the ending of a two day camp for kids. The camp, Camp Ready Kids took kids through a smoke simulation house on the first day and the rodeo on day two.

The next camp will be next Wednesday (June 25) and Thursday (June 26) at the Logan Center in Concord.
