A (Big) Spray a Day Keeps the Heat Away

Posted: Updated:
It’s getting hot in Charlotte, and everyone is looking for ways to stay cool.

Walking around in a sport coat and tie may look slick, but it can be miserable with the heat, so I decided to visit the sprayground at Nevin Community Park to cool off.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department has five “spraygrounds” located at select parks.

The Spraygrounds are open every day from 10a - 8p.  They will remain open all summer.

Sprayground Locations:

Nevin Park, 6000 Statesville Road

Cordelia Park, 2100 North Davidson Street

Latta Park, 601 East Park Avenue

Veterans Park, 2136 Central Avenue

West Charlotte Recreation Center Park, 2400 Kendall Drive
