I'm part of the myFoxCarolinas Sports Department, along with Anthony Flores. I'm thrilled to be working in a pro sports town, covering the Panthers, Bobcats (we’ll be calling them the Hornets in no time), and all the local college and high school action the Carolinas provide.

Charlotte, NC -

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin says he plans to stay put, once the Panthers wrap up their 2014 minicamp on Thursday.

"I'll still be here," Benjamin said Wednesday after practice. "I'm not going home. So yeah, I'll still be training here, working out, and just staying in the playbook."

As a result, Benjamin will get extra time to work with Cam Newton. The Panthers quarterback is still not yet 100%, after an offseason ankle surgery.

"The nice thing is Cam will be around," said Panthers head coach Ron Rivera. "Cam's gonna be here rehabbing, so I know those guys will be working on developing that rapport, which I think is important."

Meanwhile, the Panthers veteran wideouts have been similarly impressed with Benjamin's work ethic and progression.

"He's doing a great job right now," Panthers free agent signing Jerricho Cotchery said. "He's taking on the same approach everyone in the group is taking on, and that's to work hard, get better, and make sure we help this team."
