I got so sick of the Canadian cold, I moved down to Charlotte just to avoid the snow. And of course to join the My Fox Carolinas family as a Digital Journalist. I grew up in Calgary (think the Houston of Canada) and after graduating from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Journalism, I moved to Toronto to cover sports; which in Canada means hockey.

If Wednesday's reports are true, it would mean Roger Goodell handed Ray Rice a two-game suspension after seeing the graphic video of his assault on Palmer. In light of this and other rumors and reports that continue to swirl, the league announced late Wednesday that former FBI director Robert S. Mueller III will conduct an independent investigation into the league's handling of Ray Rice.

Charlotte, NC - Amy Bagwell is a poet, but she's also an artist. She believes poetry should be seen by everyone, and in order to turn that belief into a reality she's putting poetry in places that are impossible to ignore.

Bagwell is the director of a project called Wall Poems of Charlotte. The project is exactly what it sounds like: poetry painted onto building walls.

Her and Art Director Graham Carew did their first piece in April of 2013 on the side of Dandelion Market in Uptown. It is an excerpt from A.R. Ammons' "Salute". The second can be found at Trinity Episcopal School in First Ward. That poetry art installation features an excerpt from Carl Sandburg's "The People".

When those two installations went up in 2013, they did so to little fanfare. Now, the Wall Poems of Charlotte team is getting ready to do another one right in Uptown. The wall they'll be painting was donated by local art patrons Daniel and David Levine.

Levine Properties donated six walls on their properties near Brevard and 7th Street. The painted poetry that will adorn them will begin 'installation' at the end of June.

In addition to having their canvases donated by local art lovers, Bagwell and Carew have had supplies and funds donated by Rogers Builders, Sherwin Williams, Charlotte Center City Partners and Johnston, Allison & Hord, PA.
