I guess you could say my journalism career began about the time I won “Best Storyteller” in my kindergarten class. I’m a proud graduate of Winston-Salem State University, where I worked at the school newspaper for four years, three as sports editor and one as editor-in-chief.

The Charlotte Hornets appear to be taking a hard look at P.J. Hairston. The former Tar Heel is set to work out for the team for the second time in two weeks tomorrow.

Hairston first worked out for the Hornets on June 4. He was kicked off the team last year and played in the NBDL this spring.

In addition to Hairston, the Hornets will also work out former Duke star Steve Hood.

Other players slated  to work out include Villanova's James Bell, Missouri's Jordan Clarkson, Stanford's Josh Huestis and Louisiana-Lafeyette's Elfrid Payton.

NBA Draft is scheduled for June  26. The Hornets have the ninth, 24th and 45 picks in the draft.
