Local fundraisers for injured Forsyth Co. deputy

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -

Local restaurants are raising funds for the benefit of the Forsyth County deputy who was injured in May.

Deputy Daniel Rush is still recovering from being shot during a shooting incident that killed one and injured two at the Forsyth County courthouse.

Four restaurants in the Cumming area have agreed to share a certain percentage of their sales with the Rush family.

  • Zaxby's at 520 Sawnee Corners Blvd. in Cumming on June 16, all day.
  • Chick-fil-A at 653 Atlanta Road in Cumming on June 23, 5-9 p.m.
  • Beef 'O' Brady's at 2619 Freedom Pkwy in Cumming on June 26, 4-11
  • Cici's Pizza at 2920 Ronald Reagan Blvd. on June 19, 5-9

Previously, a fund was set up to cover any expenses not covered by worker's compensation at BB&T, it is now closed.

The fund has been moved to Citizens Bank of Forsyth County under the name: JD Rush Recovery Fund.

Officer Rush is "doing well and very appreciative of the support from the community."
