Missing Teacher Case Now a Homicide Case

Posted: Updated:

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department say the search for a missing teacher is now a homicide investigation. The CMPD began an active search near uptown for  Bianca Richardson Tanner, a 31 year-old teacher who has been missing since last weekend.

CMPD believes Tanner, a second grade teacher at Reedy Fork Elementary, may be in danger. There is a $5,000 reward for information concerning Tanner.

Officers from the Metro Division responded to a call for service in reference to a missing person. The victim has recently moved from Greensboro and may still have ties to that area.

Tanner is 5'3, 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a red tank top, black shorts and black flat shoes.
