Meet Mike Anderson

Every step counts for Michael Anderson. The man who his doctors once referred to as“ Miracle Mike,”is living proof that they are possible. At the age of 49 Anderson and his family experienced something they never saw coming.

He was our Miracle

Shortly before Christmas, Mike was spending time with his wife and children, running errands for the holiday season, and looking forward to the future. The next morning his wife Michelle, found him unconscious and quickly called 9-1-1.

The Fight

A stroke that doctors believed would take his life, gave him a second chance. Today after months of therapy Anderson has made progress that is nothing short of a miracle. His wife credits the support of his doctors, friends, family, and their constant faith in his recovery.

The Diagnosis

According to the Centers for Disease Control, every four minutes one American dies of a stroke. Every year more than 795,000 die as a result of a stroke. Strokes are the leading cause for long term disability and cost the United States an estimated 36.5 billion dollars a year.

For Michelle, seeing her husband come back to life was more important than the statistics against them.

“We’ve met many challenges, he’s learned to speak again, he’s learned to walk again,” she said. “Basically throughout this whole journey we watched him learn to breathe again.”

New Life

Today the Andersons are thankful for the support of doctors and nurses in Michael’s treatment and looking forward to their futures.
