I’m a local boy from Claremont, North Carolina. I attended Western Carolina University where I received a B.S. in Communication with a double concentration of broadcasting and journalism. While in college I was the General Manager of WWCU-FM and color commentated WCU football basketball games.

Today was the kick off of Carolina Climate Action's involvement with a global movement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to support the use of renewable energy.

#FastForTheClimate is the official Twitter hashtag and movement title in which people involved will fast on the first day of each month calling for world leaders to confront the climate crisis. They will continue to fast until the 21st Conference of the Parties (a meeting of world leaders in which they will try to formulate a plan to slow the climate change) in Paris, France. That conference will take place in November 2015.

The group held a candlelight vigil tonight in Uptown Charlotte to begin their journey.
