Violinists Zach De Pue and Nick Kendall of the band Time for Three were booked on a US Airways flight leaving Charlotte. According to the YouTube video posted by Kendall, flight staff told the musicians they couldn't carry on their violins. Here's what Kendall wrote about the incident:

"Zach and I (Nick) are on our way to meet up with our bassist, Ranaan Meyer, to play at the Artosphere Arts and Nature Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We were trying to make a connection in Charlotte, and the captain and crew told us that our violins were not allowed on the flight! They literally left us alone on the tarmac without any direction. Amazing! Are violins dangerous? It's hard enough to make it as a classical musician. Cut us some slack, PLEASE!!!"

Zach De Pue whipped out his violin and began playing in protest.

We skyped with the band today and they told us US Airways has still not contacted them regarding the incident. Members Nick and Zach say they easily passed through security and have not had this issue before.
" No. Nobody said a word to us. We've been traveling for 14 years. I've been traveling my whole life with my violin. There are times where people ask because the case looks a little different. As soon as I say "It's a violin," they're like "Let me help you with that."
