A fun, loving kid who was always smiling.

That's how many remember sixteen-year old Frankie Adams.

"He was a great kid. Um, always hard-working. Always wanted to make everyone laugh," said Adams' co-worker, Trent Hogue.

As a student at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, Adams juggled both classes and work.

"He always had a positive attitude. He was just always focused on getting things done," recalls Hogue.

The night of May 15th would be the last time Hogue would see his co-worker alive.

"It was just like every other night. He drove home one way and i actually drive home the other way and I didn't find out about it until the morning," said Hogue.

Adams was killed in a car accident just miles down the road on his way home from his shift at Zaxbys.

The Rock Hill Police Department says speed was a factor.

"Every emotion possible came out and eventually I had to come over here to see everyone," said Hogue.

Now, the people of Rock Hill want to help the family with funeral expenses.

Zaxby's on Heckle Road, where Adams worked will hold a fundraiser all day Wednesday to help Adams' family.

"At least 15% of everything we make that day will go to Frankie's family, help them pay for the funeral, headstone, anything else they need in this time of need," said Adams.

Jackson's Cafe and Mr. Express Gas Station in Rock Hill both have jars set-up inside to donate to the Adams' family.

For this town, honoring Frankie Adams' memory proves that one person can make a difference.
