I’m a local boy from Claremont, North Carolina. I attended Western Carolina University where I received a B.S. in Communication with a double concentration of broadcasting and journalism. While in college I was the General Manager of WWCU-FM and color commentated WCU football basketball games.

Hundreds of members from different branches of the military were honored before the start of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. This has become a tradition for NASCAR for years. So much so that NASCAR kicked off "An American Salute" which is a seven week honor tour.

"Each and every week at the race track we will have activities surrounding our races going through the summer race at Daytona," said Kenny Tharp, senior director of communications with NASCAR.
