C.J. and Brother Max is a rock-and-roll duo from Weddington, N.C. They use their musical talents to raise money for those who have fought for the United States.

They are nearly halfway to their goal of $4,000 to purchase a service dog for a wounded veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The group works with Patriot Charities, in coordination with One Warrior Won.

"These men have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country," C.J. said. "And any way that we can help them, especially through a charity such as Patriot Charities -- it's just an experience."

The Duo performs cover songs from artists like Guns N' Roses, Metallica and  Jimi Hendrix and more. They're also not old enough to drive. C.J. is 13 and Max is 11-years old.

The Duo will have their biggest performance, yet, this Memorial-Day Monday at The Patriot Festival Go the Extra Mile 5K event at Symphony Park at Southpark.

A service dog will be presented at the ceremony from One Warrior Won to a veteran. C.J. and Brother Max will be watching, and awaiting the day they can present a service dog to a veteran, as well.

Registration continues all the way up until the race. Stretching begins at 6:45 a.m., Monday, and the race begins at 7:30.
