Outdoor swimming pools and spraygrounds open Memorial Day weekend. Pool admission is $1 and spraygrounds are FREE.

Pools will operate every weekend through Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 1) and weekdays beginning June 11.

Park and Recreation's outdoor pools are:

Cordelia Pool, 2100 N. Davidson St., 704-336-2096

Double Oaks Pool, 1200 Newland Rd., 704-336-2653

Regular operating hours for swimming will be Saturdays 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sundays 1 - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday (including Memorial Day Monday) noon-6 p.m.

Spraygrounds open Friday, May 23 and close Labor Day. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.


Aquatic Center will open for Memorial Day weekend, but operate on weekends only until June 14th.

Located at 151 Academy Avenue, NW in Concord. Swimming is open to the general public. Patrons must purchase a Privilege Pass I.D. in order to swim.

Public Swim Hours:

Mon-Thurs 1:00-5:00 p.m.

Friday 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

NOTE: Friday Open 9:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. for Adult Lap Swim

Saturday 12:00-6:00 p.m.

Sunday 1:00-5:00 p.m.

There are fees for swimming. Contact the aquatic center for more info.


Two outdoor swimming pools are open for the summer months (Memorial Day weekend through mid-August) at Erwin Park and Lineberger Park.

The pools may be rented for private parties.

No public pools, but for $1, you can swim at the YMCA (857 Promenade Walk, Fort Mill, SC 29708)

Pools open June 7th


The Collett Street pool will open for the weekends starting May 24, 2014. The Collett Street pool will be open on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.


Several lake activities are permitted at Lake Norman, including water skiing, wake-boarding, rowing, fishing and sailing. There's no horsepower or speed limit on Lake Norman, so all types of boats are allowed.

Life jackets are required for ALL boats and jet skis.

Any person under the age of 26 must successfully complete a NASBLA approved boating education course before operating any vessel propelled by a motor of 10HP or greater.
