This year’s Sprint All-Star Race Pre-Race Show was arguably one of the best in the race’s history. Especially, if you ask the man who heads up Jay Howard Entertainment (JHE), the organization tasked with producing the show.

“The opportunities we’re very blessed with,” Jay Howard said, “we’ve been able to take advantage of and watch events like the Sprint All-Star Race grow, get more complicated, more exciting and leads to what I hope are some magical moments.”

Howard and his team are involved with some sort of entertainment activity at all 38 races on the Sprint Cup schedule. That list includes this year’s Sprint All-Star Pre-Race Show at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is one of the biggest and most technical in NASCAR.

“Which, in my opinion, is the most exciting 15 minutes of the year, at least from a non-race activity,” said Howard. “It’s certainly the most hectic 45 minutes of our year. We’ll have over one hundred staff members moving all of these pieces of equipment about a half a mile. We’ll have them all setup and wired in about 10 minutes. We’ll do about 14 minutes live on FOX Sports 1. Following that, we’ll have about 6 minutes to get rid of it.”

This year, the team felt the show was one of their best. Now, the planning begins to make next year's Sprint All-Star Pre-Race Show even better.

“We’ve got the baseline of what we like to do and what Sprint likes and what the fans like to see," said JHE Vice President Matt Davis. "So, every year we try to add that extra element to make it that much better.”
