The Union County Special Olympics were celebrated this afternoon after rainy weather canceled Thursday's events.

Nearly 200 athletes from 20 different schools joined in on track and field events at Cuthbertson High School.

The athletic oath of the Special Olympics is "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

Today's weather was nothing but sunny and clear skies during the games -- and the weather reflected the attitude of it's competitors, year-in and year-out.

"They don't sweat the small stuff," Cuthbertson High's Catie Helms said. "Everything that happens is great. They're happy amazing people and it's contagious. And it's a joy to be around and we just love it."
