Six brothers and their parents have been charged with sexually abusing a young girl for more than a decade.
Fox's Jason Marks has the story from Hertford, North Carolina.
Along a quiet street in Perquimans County, deputies say there were horrible things happening.
It was in this home on Chapanoke Road where more than a decade of alleged sexual abuse took place. The home that sits 50 yards from the street connected by this dirt road belongs to the Jackson family.
The Jacksons moved in almost 13 years ago. They immediately built this fence around the home neighbors believe they now know why.
"To have something like that with the kids and the little girl I would have never in my life expected something like that never," one neighbor said.
Six Jackson brothers have been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year old girl since she was only 4.
The brothers Eric, Jon, Matthew. Nathaniel, Benjamin and Aaron range in age from 18 to 27.
They were all home schooled and the sheriff says they don't have much education.
The investigation began in late 2012 when one of brothers spoke with his pastor and then confessed to deputies another brother also came clean.
Also arrested with the parents John and Nita Jackson, deputies believe they didn't do anything to stop the abuse.
One brother told investigators his mom would see the abuse and then just walk away.
A thought other parents can't understand.
The 6 brothers now sit in jail, a teenager deals with a life of scars.
