Right now, three cab companies are contracted to wait outside of the terminal at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Crown Cab, Yellow Cab, and City Cab. But Monday, Charlotte City Council could vote to change that.

The airport cab contract system went into effect while former Mayor Patrick Cannon was in office. Now that allegations of bribery have been made public, the council is talking about allowing more cabs access to the airport.

Obaid Khan owns Diamond Cab Company out of Charlotte. His company has suffered for about three years, because he has lost out on airport business. He said the only thing that could save his family owned business is to allow his cab company to access customers at the airport on a daily basis. He said airport traffic makes up about 80-90% of his business.

The Council meet Monday to decide.
