Montre Livingston was first given a pair of rollerblades at age four. Now all-grown-up and in his 20's, he's made a career on eight wheels.

"As a young kid I always wanted to be a pro skater because you always wanted to grow up and 'live-young' your whole life," Livingston says.

Livingston will be traveling to Berlin, Denmark, France, Sweden and all over America this summer. It's what he does -- he rollerblades.

"My sponsors pay for everything. I don't work a normal job because they do that," Livingston says.

Livingston is sponsored by Universal Skate Design, Denial Print Co., Create Original, Southern Scum and Aggressive Mall.

"Everything I do is all provided for by my sponsors and I have some of the best sponsors in rollerblading," Livingston says.

It's a career with somewhat of an underground following. It hasn't taken off like skateboarding or some other extreme sports, but that's not for a lack of passion amongst rollers.

"You meet a rollerblader for the first time that you've never met, he's kind of like a brother to you, already, just because there's not many of us," Livingston says. "With skateboarding, you could see a skateboarder every single day and he probably wouldn't even say hi to another skateboarder. Just because we're so small, it's more-or-less a family than anything."

And Livingston has a message for those with the slightest bit of interest in trying a new hobby.

"Test it out. Test the waters. Go to your local skate park, meet a skater. You might even meet me if you're here in Charlotte. You can wear my skates and I'll teach you what you want."
