The restaurant industry is booming in North Carolina.

"With more apartment complexes popping up in here and NoDa, we're seeing a huge kick in our sales," says Gavin Toth.

Toth has been working in the restaurant business since he was a kid.

Now, he is a general manager at the new Charlotte restaurant, Pizza Peel, in Plaza-Midwood.

"Since we're fairly new, we don't know what to expect. It's kind of fun for us to see who comes in and who doesn't," says Toth.

Toth can expect to see a lot of business.

"Full service restaurant Magazine" ranks North Carolina in it's "Top Ten" list for full restaurant (sit-down restaurant) growth.

"It's awesome to be a part of that. I mean we couldn't grow without an great customer base," says Toth.

With more than nine million people, North Carolina is set to make some dough.

The magazine estimates 15.9 billion dollars in restaurant revenue and 3.7 percent growth in sales just this year.

The Queen City will see a good chunk of that.

"I think the neighborhood aspect in Charlotte is something that especially made the restaurant scene here become more popular and something that is more and something that is really drawing a lot more people to it," says food blogger, Sarah Crosland.

With brews really hitting the scene, it adds another spice to restaurant success.

"Craft beer is so popular.   We have 32 taps here. I think that's a huge draw for a young population like myself," says Toth.

Toth hopes making the list will put North Carolina on the map.

"This opening was a huge success for us and we want to continue to do it," says Toth.
