The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the person responsible for throwing a pair of pipe bombs into a yard Monday morning.
The homeowner on Dalmatian Street called 9-1-1 after hearing the explosion then seeing a small fire. No one was hurt during the explosion.
The homeowner would not speak to My Fox Carolinas, but neighbor John Harper confirmed he heard the explosion around 12:45 a.m.
“ I heard a loud noise outside, I looked out my kitchen window and the neighbor’s yard there was a fire,” Harper said.
Harper mentioned hearing there was a second bomb at the residence that had not gone off yet. The Gastonia Bomb Squad was called to detonate the second device.
“I had an officer stop by and said they would have a bomb squad in later and they detonated one in the morning, around 3 o’clock,” confirmed Harper.
