Drumstrong is a rhythm and arts festival in Weddington, NC taking place from May 16-18.

Each May, thousands flock to Union County to embrace music and art -- and it's all for a good cause.

"Scott Swimmer, the president of Drums for Cures Inc., his son Mason was diagnosed with cancer a while back and he's a survivor and they're both musicians and they were inspired to put on a 24-hour drum-circle benefiting cancer research, education and awareness," CLTure founder and promoter Cameron Lee said.

"All the proceeds go directly to Drums for Cures Inc," Lee added.

Besides the drum-circle, more than 30 musical acts grace the main stage, national, regional and local.

Camping is free and welcomed. There is food, beer, art, disc golf, a health expo, yoga and of course, the 24-hour non-stop drum-circle where anyone with an ounce of rhythm can get involved.

My Fox Carolinas welcomed two regional acts, Time Sawyer and Overmountain Men, for an in-studio jam session. Both acts will be performing at Drumstrong.
