Dark clouds were not going to stop Ryan Hagan from watching the one sport he loves.

"Just lived in Charlotte most of my life. Always have tickets to the tournament and came out here to enjoy the day with some friends today," said Hagan.

Fans were not only watching the pros but also watching the weather at the Wells Fargo Championship today.

"I was expecting it to be a lot worse and waiting for it to rain today and it never did so we all decided let's go out here because obviously the weather is holding off," said Hagan.

You would never know from the empty seats the event was sold out.

"I think the weather forecasters scared off the morning crowd, especially the national forecasters gave a big overview but as you can see now, it's beautiful and sunny and the clouds are coming out," said golf fan, Roddy Broadnax.

The PGA Weather Center was in constant contact with PGA officials throughout the day.

The severe weather threat missed charlotte and headed east, a sigh of relief for fans.

"I think you gotta remember it's Charlotte weather. It's spring, you never know what you are going to get," said Broadnax.

Ryan was happy to enjoy the rest of the tournament  with his friends, storm-free.

"I hope the sun comes back and we get some quality rays," said Hager.

The Wells Fargo Championship is in Charlotte until May 4th.
