Rock Hill Police arrested two men Monday on marijuana possession charges.
Trenton Simmons and Brittany Robinson were arrested after police found 128 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia inside a Scooby-Doo lunchbox.
According to a police report, police responded to an anonymous tip of two men doing drugs behind a building at 944 Kiley Court. Officers were searching the area when two men emerged from the woods near Northside Elementary School.
Both men appeared nervous when approached by the officers. They admitted to having smoked marijuana and gave consent to being searched. When officers searched Simmons, they discovered a small plastic container with loose marijuana.
The officers then walked the path where they found Simmons and Robinson and discovered a black cloth grocery bag that was partially hidden. Inside the bag, they found the lunchbox wrapped in cellophane.
According to the police report, Simmons became “weak in the knees and began to sob” as one of the officers opened the lunch box and discovered the 128 grams of marijuana. The lunchbox also contained 10 glass marijuana pipes, and another plastic bag with three glass pipes with hash residue on them.
Officers rendered aid to Simmons, who they say displayed signs of fainting.
Simmons and Robinson both denied ownership of the lunchbox and its contents. They also began claiming that the officers had planted the drugs there before arriving.
Simmons and Robinson were arrested and the lunch box was confiscated as evidence.
