PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A suspect was arrested after he allegedly stole rifles from a Wal-Mart near 19th Avenue and Bell Road on Friday and then sold them.

Phoenix police say 46-year-old Daniel Justin Miranda went into a Wal-Mart, put three AR-15 rifles in a cart, covered it with cardboard and left.

Friday afternoon, officers with a neighborhood enforcement team saw a man sell a rifle to two people in a hotel parking lot.

Police say the rifle was later determined to be one that was stolen from the store.

The people who bought the rifle bought it for $200 and allegedly admitted to knowing it may have been stolen.

Both people were booked into jail for theft-control of stolen property. In addition, one of the suspects wasn't allowed to have a gun because of a previous felony conviction; he was charged with misconduct involving weapons/prohibited possessor. The other suspect was booked for possession of narcotic drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Phoenix police gave photos of the suspect from surveillance cameras inside Wal-Mart to the media.

Officers say they received numerous tips saying Miranda was the suspect and the neighborhood officers confirmed he was the person they saw selling the rifle.
Authoritiess went to the area of 11th Avenue and Bell, where Miranda is reportedly known to hang out, on Tuesday and he was taken into custody.

Police say the two additional stolen rifles were recovered and Miranda admitted to both the burglary at Wal-Mart and stealing from a Sprout's in the area the same day.

He was booked into jail and charged with two counts of burglary, trafficking in stolen property and three counts of misconduct involving weapons/prohibited possessor.
