     Thousands enjoyed an up close racing experience at the Charlotte Dirt Track.

     Thousands enjoyed an up close racing experience at the Charlotte Dirt Track.

Charlotte is playing host to some of the best computer programmers around, Hackathon CLT. Hackathon is a team-based competition that offers tech developer, designers, analysts and others to test and showcase their skills.

The organizers of the event, Tresata and other sponsors have put together a big data business problem that teams will have to solve.

"They'll come up with their solutions that they'll present on Saturday afternoon about how they think we can instinctive people to shop online," said Katie Levans, marketing director of Tresata.

Local businesses use the event to meet the programers and possibly offer some of them a job.

The event is open to the public and will showcase over 115 coders hoping to take home a cash prize.

The wining team will receive $4,000 with a $1,000 runner up prize.
